If you recall, Adam and Eve were crowned with glory and honor, but they forfeited that glory in the fall. The word for honor in the Hebrew is “hadar.”1 This word is also used in Isaiah 53 where it talks about Jesus on the cross.

He has no stately form or majesty [“hadar”, honor] that we should look upon Him, nor appearance that we should be attracted to Him. He was despised and forsaken of men, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; and like one from whom men hide their face He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. (Isaiah 53:2-3, NASB, brackets mine)2

When Jesus hung on the cross, there was nothing about His appearance that would attract anyone to Him. There was no beauty in Jesus when He hung on the cross. His whole body was mangled. His face was hideous because they beat Him until He was marred more than any man.

His appearance was marred more than any man and His form more than the sons of men. (Isaiah 52:14, NASB)

A great exchange took place. He took our repelling defects and gave us His beauty for our ashes.3 With open arms of compassion and love He willingly received our dishonor, and we received His honor in exchange. Now, at any point of the day on any day of the week, we are crowned in Christ’s glory and honor.

Picture Jesus today:

[And He] has now entered into heaven and is at the right hand of God, with [all] angels and authorities and powers made subservient to Him. (1 Peter 2:22, Amplified)4

Those who receive the Lord Jesus Christ and His finished work are now crowned with that very glory and honor that crowns Him today at the right hand of the Father. So let’s walk in it!

You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:14-16)5

Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. (Isaiah 60:1)

This light is the glory of JESUS IN us and ON us!!

Did you know that the only thing quicker than light is darkness? When light hits, darkness disappears! Light dispels darkness. Wherever we are, wherever our feet trod, whomever we come in contact with, we need to believe that the light within us overcomes the darkness in this world.
