Q: Do we need to cleanse ourselves before we take the Lord’s Supper?
Q: What does it mean to take Communion in an “unworthy manner”?
Do we need to cleanse ourselves before we take the Lord’s Supper? What is the meaning of Lord’s Supper? Jesus said, “Do this in remembrance of Me.” He didn’t say, “Do this in remembrance of your sins.” The Lord’s Supper was never intended to be a time of introspection and consciousness of sins. It’s a time of thanksgiving and remembrance of what Jesus accomplished for us through His broken body and shed blood on the cross.
