Q: How does grieving the Holy Spirit fit in with grace?
Q: Do we grieve the Holy Spirit when we sin?
The phrase “grieve the Holy Spirit” has often been used in the context of someone acting irreverently, for instance in a church service, or misbehaving, failing God somehow. One of the questions we received on this topic was from someone who felt like God would never be pleased with her because she had grieved Him so much. What a tragedy, because that’s not at all the biblical context of Paul’s words in Ephesians 4 regarding grieving the Holy Spirit.
