Having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness. (Romans 6:18)1

Before we were saved, there was no list of good things we could do to be righteous. We were confined in sin and sinners by nature. No righteous act could change our status, and all our efforts at making sure our naughty list was shorter than our nice list amounted to nothing more than dead works. However, today even when we sin, God sees us as righteous. We are freed from the confinement of sin and forever in Christ’s righteousness.

This says to me that Jesus’ obedience was far more powerful than Adam’s sin. You, believer, are as righteous as Jesus is.

But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption— that, as it is written, “He who glories, let him glory in the Lord.” (1 Corinthians 1:30-31)

Jesus has become our everything!
