restful day

A Restful Day in the Life of Jesus, Part 2…

In Mark 4-5 we see a “restful” day in the life of Jesus. It was a day of great activity, but no anxiety or pressure for Jesus.

After Jesus called the storm on the sea, He and His disciples arrived on the other side to witness the most demon possessed man in the Bible, the Gadarene demoniac.

Only Jesus stepped out of the boat to greet the tormented soul. This man was bound with chains, crying, and cutting himself. Jesus commanded the demons to come out of the man, and He cast them into a herd of swine.1

After the man was delivered of all the demons, Mark tells us in chapter 5 of four glorious results of this man’s deliverance: 1) He was seated. 2) He was clothed. 3) He was in his right mind. 4) And the most beautiful of all: he wanted to be with Jesus.2

When we are delivered from evil, those are the same results of our deliverance: we’re restful, we’re self-controlled, our minds are sound, and we love to be with Jesus!
