We can’t have true, resilient, long-term peace in our lives in all circumstances until we have peace in our conscience. It’s the peace that sustains all other peace. It’s the peace that reassures us that no matter what — even if we face consequences for our own sin in this world,
• GOD IS ON OUR SIDE!!!!
• God will see us through.
• God will make a way where there seems to be no way!
The path of peace is a path that most people wouldn’t dare to venture down. Why? Because it takes great courage to LET GO! Grace doesn’t ensure that all of a sudden all of our circumstances change, but it does give us the joy unspeakable to walk through anything. It gives us the freedom to wave the white flag of surrender and watch how God works it all out for good. Our job is to guard our hearts. We guard the inside, and He guards everything else.
Peace in our conscience – knowing that we are righteous apart from our performance – is the beginning of all peace. The gift of righteousness is God’s love demonstrated for us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us. This demonstration is proof that God is FOR US.
