1: G.R.A.C.E

Grace is one of those words that people love making into an acrostic, such as “God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense” or “God’s Redemption At Calvary Expressed.” I like those, but when I think of grace, I think of something like a funnel of God’s goodness flowing from heaven. I brainstormed and came up with this one:

Gushing

Rivers of

Abundance

Ceaselessly

Emanating from God’s throne.

God’s throne is called the “throne of grace,”¹ and the river of life flows from His throne to us.² Life flows to us because of God’s grace – if it weren’t for His grace, we would not even be alive! By Jesus, the manifestation of Grace, everything was created. Everything was created by Him, through Him, and for Him; and in Him everything is held together.³ Jesus lives after the power of an endless life, and that is the life He has given to us by His grace.⁴ Jesus told the woman at the well that she would never be thirsty if she drank the living water He was offering.⁵ Jesus said that once the Holy Spirit came into the hearts of believers, rivers of living water would flow from our innermost being.⁶ All of this speaks of a continuous flow of life. Jesus came to give us abundant God-life, the kind that never ends and never ebbs.

Is your life marked by “gushing rivers of abundance ceaselessly emanating from God’s throne?” You might be like I was. I knew the scriptures about grace and abundant life, but there seemed to be something obstructing God’s grace in my life. Honestly, I thought it was my sin or the devil; therefore, in order to find the abundant life I was seeking, I focused on those two things and tried to defeat them. In reality, neither my sin nor the devil were blocking God’s amazing grace or causing God to withhold His grace from me. His grace is always flowing. My problem was blindness to the truth. I needed an unveiling so my spiritual eyes could behold the immeasurable expanse of God’s amazing grace.
