140: We Are Qualified

We can rest and be at peace because the Father Himself has qualified us to partake in the inheritance we have in Jesus Christ. He was the firstborn among many brethren, and we have been born from above by the Spirit of God as a new creation in the very image of God.

… giving thanks to the FATHER WHO HAS QUALIFIED US to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. (Colossians 1:12-14, emphasis mine)¹

We are co-inheritors of everything that Jesus has inherited as the Son of God. He had the perfect conduct and the perfect character that we lacked, and He had the sinless blood that was required as our sacrifice. Now we have been made righteous through His blood. We have become sons of God as He is the Son of God. His Father is our Father.

Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith… For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise. (Galatians 3:13-14, 26-29)

Today we are free from the law and redeemed from every curse associated with disobeying the law. When we are in Jesus, the One who is the Heir of all the blessings, we are IN the Seed; therefore, WE ARE THE SEED of Abraham and heirs according to the promise of God.
