In the fullness of time, when the law had served it’s purpose and proved that no man could be made right with God by perfect performance, God sent His Son, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law.1 Redeem literally means “to buy out of slavery.”2 Jesus, the Son of God, loves us, came as us, died as us, and rose as us so that we could be as He is: in perfect union with the Father. We have been purchased out of the slavery of works-religion by the blood of Jesus and have been made sons and daughters of God.
